Associate
Research Scientist – Cell and Molecular
Biology
The candidate will evaluate function of
tight junction proteins in epithelial
cellular models, maintain cell lines,
make cell inserts, study tight junction
integrity and permeability affected by
formulation and compounds and develop
high throughput screening platform for
compound and formulation screening.
Our ideal candidate has a MS/BS degree
and 2+ years experience in cell or molecular
biology and biochemistry; significant
experience in mammalian cell culture and
cell-based assays; maintenence and characterization
of cell lines; molecular biology techniques
including RNA extraction, RT-PCR, bDNA,
immunoblot and immuno-flourescence, gene
and small oligonucleotide transfecton
in mammalian cells.

Senior
Research Scientist
Key responsibilities include formulation
development in screening of intranasal
formulations, characterization of small
molecules/peptides/proteins, running stability
studies, and preparing pre-clinical materials.
Qualifications include good laboratory
skills, formulation and characterization
of small molecules/peptides/proteins,
and experience in project management/leadership.
In addition, a M.S. minimum is required,
Ph.D. preferred. Must have a proven track
record in pharmaceutical R&D, 5 yrs
+ experience preferred.
Research
Scientist
The candidate will work in the Cell and
Molecular Biology group within R&D
on projects to identify and develop compounds
for non-viral oligonucleotide delivery
for in vitro and in vivo drug delivery
and therapeutic applications. The candidate
will work with chemists and other biologists
to identify and optimize compounds and
formulations that enhance the delivery
of oligonucleotide-based drugs and will
also be involved in developing oligonucleotide
drugs,
Our ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D.
or equivalent in the biological sciences
required and have 3-5 years of experience
using standard molecular and cell biology,
as well as selected biophysical techniques.
Must be a hands-on bench scientist. Must
have significant experience in
(1) Mammalian cell/tissue culture and
cell-based assays;
(2) basic viral and non-viral gene delivery
knowledge,
(3) molecular biology techniques such
as RNA extraction and RT-PCR,
(4) knowledge and skills to analyze polymer
properties, such as size and surface potentials.
Must be an independent and critical thinker,
work well in project teams, and perform
well under heavy work loads.
QA
Specialist
This position participates in implementation
and management of quality systems and
assuring the quality of StarLabs products.
Responsibilities include reviewing records
for raw material release, batch record
review and disposition, supporting manufacturing
activities, deviation and investigation
review, quality system record filing and
tracking, and training.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years
QA/QC experience in the bio-pharmaceutical
industry, understanding of pharmaceutical
processes, facilities and equipment, other
applicable Government regulations, competence
in Microsoft Office suite, excellent oral
and written communication skills. A BS
in biological science or related field
is preferred
